Acid reflux among health problems linked to 9/11 dust
Police officers, fire fighters, and others in New York City who came in contact with the dust from the September 11 attacks are coping with many health problems caused by the dust, including acid reflux. One woman who cleaned offices and apartments after the attack says she has acid reflux, a chronic cough, asthma, and memory loss due to exposure to the dust. Researchers found 69 percent of the nearly 10,000 first responders they examined had new or worsened lung problems after September 11.
