ADHD gene doesn't predict response to stimulant meds

New research has shown that a gene linked to attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder doesn't predict how well a person will respond to medications used to treat the disorder. The gene seems to predict how severe ADHD symptoms will be for an individual who carries the gene. Researchers were hoping that this gene also could help doctors figure out which patients would respond to stimulant treatments.  Read full story >
