Alzheimer's meds may not delay dementia onset

Medications such as Aricept, Exelon, and Reminyl are sometimes prescribed off-label to people with pre-dementia, but according to a new study they may not help stave off Alzheimer's disease. Researchers in Italy conducted six clinical trials on patients with early-stage memory loss and found that the meds did not significantly reduce the progression toward Alzheimer's.
