Antipsychotics little help to Alzheimer's patients
Treating common Alzheimer's problems such as agitation and
aggression with antipsychotic drugs is of little help to patients,
a new study has found. British researchers divided 165 Alzheimer's
patients into two groups, half of whom received the meds. After six
months and one year the researchers found no difference in symptoms
between the half who were taking antipsychotics and the half who
were not.
