Asthma linked to suicidal thoughts, attempts

People who suffer from asthma are at an increased risk for suicidal thoughts and suicide attempts, a new study suggests. Researchers at Johns Hopkins University studied 5,692 people and found that those who had asthma were more likely to have suicidal thoughts followed by a suicide attempt than people who did not suffer from the condition. Researchers say the link may be due to the long-term anxiety and discomfort associated with chronic asthma.
