Bextra permanently banned

The FDA has stated that the pain-relief medication Bextra should be banned permanently in the United States. The drug poses greater health risks than other COX-2 inhibitors, such as Celebrex, which is still on the market, and Vioxx, which is not. Pfizer, the manufacturer, withdrew the drug in May 2005 but has been hoping to reinstate it.
