Botox may ease osteoarthritis

The cosmetic med Botox may relieve shoulder pain in patients with osteoarthritis (OA), researchers say. In a small study, OA patients were given injections of either Botox or a placebo. After nearly a month, the patients given Botox reported less pain and greater shoulder mobility than those given the placebo. Though they find the results promising, the researchers say more studies are needed to confirm Botox's effects on OA.
