Botox shots ward off migraines, study finds

Researchers at the Headache Care Center in Missouri say Botox injections may help prevent migraines in people whose headaches aren't well controlled by oral meds. Doctors at the center gave migraine sufferers injections of either Botox or a placebo. They found that patients who received Botox had fewer migraine episodes and headache days than placebo-treated patients. And though Botox didn't appear to ease sufferers' migraine pain, the drug had a "measurable effect" on the patients' quality of life.
