Breast cancer grows faster in younger women

Norwegian researchers say that breast cancer tumors grow more quickly in younger women. Their study, based on 395,188 women, found that it normally takes 1.7 years for a tumor to double in size, but younger women appeared to have cancer that grew more quickly. Experts say this suggests that many women should begin having a yearly mammogram at age 40, rather than waiting until they are older to begin yearly screening.
