Chantix being tested on veterans with PTSD

Veterans groups and members of Congress are calling for an immediate halt to a government study involving the anti-smoking drug Chantix and Iraq and Afghanistan veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The Veterans Administration study is investigating volunteers' ability to stop smoking when Chantix is combined with PTSD therapy. But veterans advocates argue that Chantix has been linked to nearly 40 suicides and more than 400 incidents of suicidal behavior, and they do not want the drug given to veterans suffering from PTSD.
