Enbrel's label updated to include TB risk

Drugmaker Amgen has updated the U.S. prescribing information on the rheumatoid arthritis (RA) drug Enbrel. The prescribing information now contains a boxed warning to alert users to the risk of infections, including tuberculosis, in people who use tumor necrosis factor inhibitor drugs. The boxed warning also includes information about screening and monitoring Enbrel users for tuberculosis, including those who have tested negative for latent tuberculosis infection.
