FDA approves Strattera for long-term use

The Food and Drug Administration has approved Strattera for long-term maintenance therapy of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder in children and teenagers. In a recent clinical trial, participants taking Strattera were less likely to relapse than participants taking a placebo. Medications are usually prescribed at a lower dose during maintenance therapy, which is used after a disease has been brought under control.
