FDA asked to consider Cymbalta for chronic pain

Drugmaker Eli Lilly & Co. has asked the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to approve Cymbalta for the management of chronic pain. Lilly's supplemental new drug application is based on clinical trials in which Cymbalta was found effective at treating chronic osteoarthritis and lower back pain. Cymbalta is already approved in the United States for the treatment of major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and diabetic neuropathy in adults.
