FDA okays Cimzia for Crohn's

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Cimzia for use by adults who have moderate to severe Crohn's disease and who have not responded to conventional treatment. Cimzia is an anti-TNF injectable drug that is given monthly if patients respond well to the first few treatments. Drugmaker UCB says that Cimzia should be available in April 2008.
