FDA rejects Advair for COPD
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has rejected the use of the
medication Advair for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease (COPD). Drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline says the FDA expressed
concerns about the dosing levels proposed by the company. The FDA's
decision came as a surprise to some experts since an advisory panel
voted unanimously to approve the medication for COPD earlier this
year.
