Growing pains--or arthritis?
Arthritis affects about 46 million U.S. adults, but the condition
also sends nearly one million children to doctor's offices every
year. But how can parents know if a child's pain is due to growing
pains, or if it's being caused by something more? Dr. Tom Ellis, an
expert on arthritis in people under age 50, talks about the causes
of arthritis in children and teens, and he gives clues that parents
can look for to tell if their child may be suffering arthritis
