Kids with asthma need parent, school involvement

A new survey released by the American Lung Association raises a red flag for parents of asthmatic children. The survey suggests that some parents are unsure if their children can self-administer asthma medications while at school. Nearly 75 percent of the respondents believed self-medication was not allowed, when in fact 46 states allow children to carry and use their inhalers as needed. Experts say the survey illustrates the need for better communication between parents and school administrators.
