Mammograms may spot stroke risk

Women have mammograms to help them fight breast cancer, and now a new study suggests that mammograms may also help doctors identify women at risk for having a stroke. Calcium buildups in the blood vessels of the breasts are more commonly found in women who have had a stroke. Researchers say that using mammograms as a screening method to identify women who have these calcium buildups may help doctors provide better them with better stroke-prevention care.
