Science affirms oatmeal's effect on cholesterol

A new scientific review of current research has confirmed that eating oatmeal lowers cholesterol. A researcher at the University of Kentucky found that studies conducted during the past 15 years have, without exception, shown that oat consumption lowers total cholesterol and bad cholesterol. The study also showed that oat consumption is able to lower these levels without adversely affecting good cholesterol or triglyceride concentrations.
