Second trial finds Avastin effective breast cancer treatment

A new study suggests that the lung and colorectal cancer medication Avastin may also be good for breast cancer. The study found that Avastin delayed the progression of breast cancer in some women, but researchers were not sure whether the medication helped lengthen lives. The Food and Drug Administration is scheduled to decide by February 23 whether to approve Avastin for use in treating breast cancer.
