Sleep problems differ for patients, caregivers

Sleep problems differ between Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers, a new study suggests. Researchers at the University of Washington found that patients were likely to go to bed around the same time of night, but the total amount of sleep they got per night varied. But the study showed that caregivers were unlikely to go to bed at the same time every night, though the amount of time they were awake at night appeared stable. Unsurprisingly, researchers found that patients with advanced dementia and their caregivers had the worst sleep patterns.
