Some painkillers protect against Parkinson's
Taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as
ibuprofen may reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease, a new study
suggests. Researchers looked at 579 people--half with
Parkinson's--and found that those who took NSAIDs regularly reduced
their risk of developing Parkinson's by as much as 60 percent.
Aspirin also reduced patients' Parkinson's risk--but only if the
patients were women.
