Study confirms diabetes, depression link

Scientists have known about the link between diabetes and depression, but there has been some confusion about which condition begins first. Now, researchers at Johns Hopkins say that the relationship works both ways. Not only are patients with diabetes more likely to suffer from depression, but people who are depressed are more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes, the study suggests. Experts say this means doctors should be aware of the link and should keep an eye on patients who have either condition.
