Study deems egg-freezing method safe

Canadian researchers say that freezing eggs for future fertility treatment is as safe as conventional in-vitro fertilization (IVF). The study of 200 children born to mothers who had used the vitrification method were not more likely to suffer birth defects than children conceived by IVF or natural pregnancy. Researchers say the vitrification method could help many women who want to preserve their chance of fertility or delay motherhood.
