Study: Folic acid doesn't help your heart
Another study has shown that folic acid doesn't offer any
protection from heart disease or stroke. The trial included more
than 5,400 U.S. women who took a daily combination pill of folic
acid, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12, while the other half took a
placebo. Over the next seven years, the same percentage of women in
each group had a heart attack or stroke. Previous studies suggested
that folic acid could reduce amino acid levels linked to heart
disease.
