Study: HRT raises cancer risk for 5 years

A German study of the link between hormone replacement therapy and breast cancer reinforces the results of an American study that showed the medications increase the risk of cancer. This study showed that women who have taken HRT have a 37 percent higher risk of breast cancer than women who have never taken it. When the women were using HRT, the risk is was elevated by 73 percent. The survey included 3,464 breast cancer patients and 6,657 healthy women between the ages of 50 and 74.
