Study: Less Enbrel needed to control RA
British researchers say rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients treated
with Enbrel need fewer dose escalations in their first year of
treatment than patients taking Remicade or Humira. In an analysis
of 44 European studies, researchers found that one percent of RA
patients taking Enbrel required a higher dose in their first year,
compared to eight percent of patients taking Humira and 29 percent
of patients taking Remicade. Investigators say this may make Enbrel
a more cost-effective choice for the treatment of RA.
