Study shows most common depression symptoms
A new report from Irish researchers has found the most common symptoms of depression in people who suffer from that condition. In a survey in Ireland, 32 percent of respondents reported frequent thoughts of death or suicide, 29 percent reported suffering low self esteem, and 28 percent said they suffered from sleep disturbances. Investigators also found that despite the fact that 88 percent of people think it is important that depression is openly discussed, 62 percent of people would be embarrassed to discuss depression with their peer group, and 77 percent believe depression is not well understood.
