Study: St. John's Wort doesn't help ADHD

A small study has shown that St. John's Wort doesn't ease the symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder any better than a sugar pill. During the study, a group of 54 kids ages 6 - 17 were given a placebo or a dose of St. John's Wort three times a day. There was no significant difference in inattentiveness and hyperactivity between the two groups during the eight-week trial. One ADHD researcher said this study proves that parents should be as critical of complementary and alternative medicines as they are about conventional treatments.
