Taking multiple pain meds may have risks
A new U.S. study reports that people who take more than one
non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) to control pain may
have poorer health-related quality of life. Many pain patients take
both prescription and non-prescription NSAIDs at the same time,
either because they need more pain relief or because they aren't
aware the meds are all in the same class. But the new study found
that patients who take more than one NSAID score lower on tests
that measure physical and mental health wellness than people who
took only one pain med.
