Two chemical peels effective against acne

St. Louis University researchers have found that chemical peels containing alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) or beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) are both highly effective in treating mild to moderately severe facial acne. Peels containing BHA had slightly fewer side effects and their results lasted longer than peels containing AHA. However, overall, both types of treatments were similarly effective at reducing lesions associated with acne.
