Zocor may treat Alzheimer's, Parkinson's
A new study from Boston University has found that the statin Zocor
may reduce the incidence of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's
disease by up to 50 percent. Researchers analyzed data on over 4
million people and found that those who took Zocor were less likely
to develop the diseases. Researchers say the same benefit was not
obtained by patients taking Lipitor or Mevacor.
