Crohn's med could treat severe form of arthritis

A medication currently being tested to treat Crohn's disease could also help ease a severe form of spinal arthritis called ankylosing spondylitis (AS). The new Crohn's med, which is currently in clinical trials, treats Crohn's by suppressing the activity a particular gene. Researchers now say the same gene is involved in AS, and they believe the Crohn's med could help relieve this condition as well.
