Caffeine may be responsible for more than the jitters--researchers say it may also raise blood glucose levels. In a recent study, researchers gave diabetics the caffeine equivalent to four cups of coffee and found that their blood glucose levels rose by eight percent. Researchers aren't sure why caffeine has this effect, but they say that diabetics who have trouble controlling their blood sugar should try cutting back on caffeinated products.
