A reader wants to know if it's possible for chocolate to aggravate asthma. According to Dr. Mary Pickett, an allergy to chocolate is possible, but the real culprit behind worsening asthma symptoms may be acid reflux. Chocolate--along with peppermint, alcohol, and fatty foods--are some of the main acid reflux triggers, and acid reflux can trigger asthma symptoms.
